San Diego for the Comic-Con
NBM's annual visit to San Diego for the Comic-Con International is always exciting. We know it can be expensive for the public, so we offer a way to help out. Consider working with us at our booths! Ideal candidates will have familiarity with the NBM line, and actual reading knowledge of some. Only read our adult titles? That's fine, we will have an adult area, too. We are also looking for those of you with customer service experience.. Comic shop experience is a plus, but anyone with a retail store background would be a plus. Security help is also needed at the entrance to our adult area. You don't need to be male, just good at reading drivers' licenses and checking ages. Here are other qualities that may help us: if you are licensed driver with your own vehicle. If you speak languages other than English. If you are local and know the Gaslamp area and surroundings.
The comic-con starts officially on Thursday July 14th. However, NBM will be arriving on Tuesday the 12th for set-up. We will need your help on set-up days as well as during the show. The con opens 5:30 pm Wednesday night for "Preview Night". Sunday the 17th, after the show officially closes, we will also need your help to break down the booth, pack away the unsold stock, and get the heck outta there. We expect you to be available for 4 plus hours per day except for set-up and breakdown.
What we offer: first, you will get an exhibitor badge for the show, which will allow you free admission. Then we will offer an hourly wage for the work you do (and it will be work!). We do not cover meals (and meal time is unpaid...) or other expenses. You will get an employee discount for NBM books, and will have the opportunity to meet and work with our artists and writers.
We know the convention gets busier every year, so we will make every attempt to work with your schedules as we know everyone has signings and panels to attend, including us!
Now here's how to let us know of your interest: send me a note. I'm the sales manager, Tony Shenton. My email is Shenton4Sales@aol.com. Please mark your subject line "San Diego" or something like that. Give me an idea of your qualifications, and then I will be in touch with you promptly. We will not leave you waiting, so you will have plenty of time to make arrangements.

Thanks for your interest!
Tony Shenton, NBM
